The Background

Jumar Solutions is a global IT services and solutions company which provides a combination of recruitment, resource augmentation services and outsourced IT projects. Founded in 1999, the business quickly became one of the fastest-growing companies of its kind within the UK and has since enjoyed organic growth thanks to referrals, recommendations and reputation.

With a wide client base ranging from SMBs to large corporate and government departments, Jumar’s growth meant that scalability of its IT infrastructure and resilience planning were becoming increasingly important.

The Challenge

Jumar Solutions wanted to replace its existing backup solution with a fully-managed disaster recovery system but also needed a provider that could work with its existing Veeam backup application.

Having contracts in place with more than 150 customers, and with a sizeable distributed workforce in locations as far as Australia, Jumar needed a business continuity plan that was robust and responsive. From a best practice perspective, this would ensure they could continue servicing their customers while mitigating the risk of any financial loss and reputational damage should the unexpected occur. It was particularly important for Jumar to implement a solution which its clients – and potential clients – would recognise as best of breed, and deliver the highest levels of confidence.

Adam Bell, IT Infrastructure Manager at Jumar Solutions, explained why the existing set up needed to evolve with the company’s growth, stating: “It’s one thing to have a backup in place, but unless you have a tried-and-tested physical DR facility, you will have to manually provision something, the situation can become unwieldy and create a significant management overhead.”

“We need to be resilient. We need to continually bolster our business continuity processes and need to know that we can bring it all back up quickly should we need to. It’s something that helps you sleep at night.”

The Solution

Jumar was keen to consolidate a number of its existing suppliers and, as an existing Daisy customer, challenged its account manager to find a solution that would meet its business continuity requirements.

It was identified that the business would increase its resilience by transitioning from its existing backup solution to Daisy’s eBackup service. Delivered using Veeam replication ‘as a service’, it would enable Jumar’s data to be sent in real time to Daisy’s vault and virtual recovery platform hosted in its secure data centre based within a few miles of Jumar’s premises.

In the event of a disruptive incident, Jumar staff are able to relocate to this easily-accessible disaster recovery facility where they can continue to work as normal. It enables them to operate with minimum downtime and provides a connection to the recovered IT systems using Daisy’s work area recovery solution (FlexPlace). This integrates with eBackup to enable Daisy to recover the data within agreed SLAs to achieve Jumar’s required business outcomes.

Working with multiple software platforms and technologies, Daisy was able to offer a replication of Jumar’s existing backup service which made for a seamless transition process.

The Result

Having implemented the disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS) solution, Jumar Solutions is able to further reassure its clients that it has a solid business continuity plan, significantly enhancing its client proposition.

Adam added: “We now have a site with a managed office which can be brought online rapidly and seamlessly if required. Because the solution centres on automatic business continuity and disaster recovery provisioning, we don’t even have to think about it. The backup systems run overnight, giving us the reassurance that there is the resilience both we and our clients need.”

“Daisy’s business continuity and disaster recovery solution has enhanced our proposition to our current and potential clients by delivering an extra level of confidence. It can be compared to a form of insurance – a necessary precaution that will save us considerable cost and disruption if an event happens.”

Daisy is looking forward to providing continued support to Jumar Solutions as the business looks to continue to expand in Manchester and across other sites around the UK.
