The Background

KP Consultancy is the business of sole trader Kevin Perry. Kevin worked across the telecoms industry before branching out on his own in 2011.

Now, KP Consultancy looks after and manages more than 2,500 mobile connections for its customers who are based across the UK.

The Challenge

KP Consultancy was previously under Fox Cellular and 3G Comms. However, in 2009 and 2018 respectively, the businesses were acquired by Daisy and, in return, gained KP Consultancy as a valued customer.

Business owner Kevin Perry said: “I was originally under another supplier but they were then taken over by Daisy. A lot of my current customers were already using Daisy for some of their business communications and I quickly developed a good relationship too so I was happy to make the switch.

Fast forward nine years and the world was hit with coronavirus, forcing businesses to look for alternative working arrangements and hindering growth and profit for thousands of businesses across the globe.

Kevin added: “I’m a sole trader so I just worked from home but many of my customers were looking for quick remote working solutions such as temporary SIM cards and they wanted to choose from a variety of tariffs and networks.”

The Solution

KP Consultancy already had around 750 mobile connections registered with Daisy Comms but, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the business required more mobility with an even quicker turnaround.

Kevin explained: “Everyone’s offices shut down and suddenly the world became a different place. My customers wanted to send staff home with temporary mobile devices and came to me for help.

“I spoke to my Account Manager Sam Phillips and he was able to sort temporary SIM cards out for me instantly. I ordered them and I got them the next day, ready for my customers.”

With the rapid turnaround rate Daisy offered KP Consultancy, the business has seen an increase in productivity and has thrived throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

Kevin added: “It has increased the productivity and I’m confident my business will thrive after the coronavirus pandemic.

“My Account Manager Sam is brilliant – I give him something to do and he does it and I couldn’t ask for anymore from him.”

The Result

Thanks to the quick thinking of Sam and the mobility solutions Daisy had available, around 750 of KP Consultancy’s customers are now actively working from a mobile device either on a temporary SIM-only contract or a longer-term deal.

However, KP Consultancy’s experience with Daisy during the coronavirus pandemic has led to it looking at other telecoms solutions available to them.

Kevin explained: “Daisy are quick with innovation. I need to look at hosted VoIP and I know Daisy will help me with that when I feel ready. I need to become comfortable with it with Sam and Daisy’s assistance I will move to a hosted solution in the near future.

“I’ll also begin to look at mobile device management as I know that’s becoming more popular across the country and, one day, I will take that out with Daisy.

“I personally would recommend Daisy to anyone especially because of the efficiency I receive and the relationship I have with my Account Manager, Sam.”
