Daisy continue to work with a number of customers who are impacted by this event.
The advise being provided below is best practice and we are seeing where the below is being followed, service is being restored. Where a customer is not able to download the latest firmware version, we suggest that SSL VPN is disabled as a temporary step till this download is possible.
10:40 – 24th March 2025
There is a known vulnerability impacting a wide range of Draytek devices which is being seen worldwide. This event started late on the 22nd of March 2025 where customers would have started to see intermittent drops on their connectivity.
Customers who have not taken management of the device from Daisy or have purchased their own device who maybe impacted by this vulnerability, please see below for steps to help resolve this event:
-
Upgrade router to the latest firmware via the following steps
-
Back up your current configuration (System Maintenance > Config Backup). Use the “.ALL” file for upgrading to preserve your settings. If upgrading from an older version, review the release notes for specific instructions
-
It is important that the file chosen is .ALL and NOT .rst. The .rst file will factory reset the device which will cause further issues.
-
-
If remote access is enabled: Disable it unless absolutely necessary. Use an access control list (ACL) and enable 2FA if possible. For unpatched routers, disable both remote access (admin) and SSL VPN. Note: ACL doesn’t apply to SSL VPN (Port 443), so temporarily disable SSL VPN until upgraded.
-
At this time, the upgrade path will send users to the Draytek software centre which is currently seeing a high demand, so it may take time for this to be downloaded to the router. This can be found via https://www.draytek.com.tw/support/resources/routers where the range of firmware versions are available.
A note, if Daisy do not have management to the devices we will not be able to help, we are providing best practice to everyone at this time.
09:00 – 24th March 2025
We have been made aware of a 3rd party vendor vulnerability which is currently impacting Draytek devices. If you do use a Draytek device for any connectivity and you are experiencing drops in service please upgrade your device firmware to the latest version.
