Daisy Communications is dedicated to having a positive impact on the environment and society, striving to create a better world for future generations. Rooted in our commitment to be better every day, the organisation is actively working to improve its practices across all its brands and engage with stakeholders to address pressing issues. In this article, we’ll explore why Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives matter to Daisy, what the company is prioritising in 2024, and its top three goals for the upcoming year.

Why ESG matters to Daisy Communications

Daisy Communications Ltd (DCL) has always been committed to addressing issues that resonate with people and supporting causes that matter. ESG serves as the ideal corporate framework for involving everyone in making a difference. By actively participating in ESG initiatives, Daisy encourages its customers, suppliers, and employees to join the journey towards a more sustainable and socially responsible future. The commitment to ESG sends a powerful message about Daisy’s identity as a caring and compassionate organisation.

In addition to regional Christmas giving campaigns and national fundraising events like Macmillan Coffee Mornings, Christmas Jumper Day, and Movember, Daisy Communications actively supports its communities through fundraising football tournaments. The company also aids local recruitment in the Nelson area and collaborates with Sheffield Hallam University to provide internships, showcasing a holistic approach to corporate giving on both local and national levels.

Daisy’s priorities in 2024

In the coming year, Daisy is placing a significant emphasis on the relaunch of its ESG initiatives. This will coincide with the implementation of ISO 14001 accreditation, allowing employees to contribute ideas and efforts to reduce the company’s carbon footprint. Collaboration with organisations like the Woodland Trust and River Authorities is on the agenda, exploring opportunities to engage in environmental projects and support local communities.

Daisy is actively gearing up to champion ‘The Big Goal’ in 2024, showcasing a resolute commitment to empower individuals at risk of homelessness by cultivating transformative new skills. This innovative initiative seamlessly integrates the world’s leading sport with one of the UK’s notable industry sectors, strategically addressing the pressing social issue of Youth Homelessness.

Our top three goals for 2024

  1. Relaunch ESG alongside our new website: Daisy’s primary goal is to reintroduce its ESG initiatives in conjunction with the launch of a new DCL website. This strategic move aims to build awareness as well as encouraging active participation and contributions from employees and stakeholders.
  2. Reduce energy usage: Daisy Communications is committed to reducing its energy consumption through various initiatives. This includes replacing the hybrid fleet with electric vehicles, utilising newly installed solar panels at our Nelson office, and employing monitoring software to identify and address energy wastage.
  3. Sign up for the Science Based Targeting Initiative (SBTI) auditing scheme: As part of its commitment to transparency and accountability, Daisy will enrol in the independent SBTI auditing scheme. This initiative will drive further reductions in energy usage and carbon emissions, providing a tangible way for customers, suppliers, and staff to witness and scrutinise the company’s environmental efforts.

A call to action

As we enter the new year, Daisy Communications invites staff and stakeholders to contribute to our environmental goals. Committed to energy and carbon improvements, we value collective efforts.
