The new NHS Recovery Plan has outlined efforts required to improve access to primary care and reform healthcare services due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. The plan has been designed to help optimise the delivery of patient care and satisfaction, and it offers healthcare providers the opportunity to boost efficiency.

The core goal of the NHS Recovery plan with regards to recovering access to primary care is to tackle the 8am rush and make it easier and quicker for patients to get the help they need. One of the specific targets in the four-part plan is to “implement ‘Modern General Practice Access’”, allowing patients to understand how their request will be handled, based on clinical need and continuing to respect their preference for a call, face-to-face appointment, or online message.  In addition to re-targeting £240 million to support practices in the move away from analogue phone systems – this could mean approximately £60,000 of support over two years. Daisy Patient Line also provides self-service call features to allow patients to pursue what they need without outside assistance. This enables practices to meet the requirements being put on them as well as take advantage of the opportunities available from the NHS Recovery Plan.

It is because of this Daisy Communications been recognised by the NHS as a trusted provider, and one of the suppliers added to the NHS England Better Purchasing Framework List for meeting the qualification criteria. We’re thrilled to have been recognised by the NHS for our role in enabling the digital age and being ready to support the implementation of the recovery plan, and we’re just as determined to keep the nation’s healthcare sector ahead of the technological shift.
