Daisy Communications attended one of the UK's biggest Housing events this month

Last week we attended PfH Live in Manchester Central, Manchester’s largest exhibition centre. PfH Live was part of the larger Chartered Institute of Housing’s yearly event and this was the first time it has been held in person since the pandemic began.

As one of the Procurement for Housing’s accredited members, we were thrilled to be back and meet the Housing Agencies and visitors attending the event.

In case you missed us, our focus was on Future Ready Housing. Be that creating smart social housing using The Internet of Things (IoT), with utilities capable of reporting breakages ahead of time to preparing Housing Agencies for the PSTN Switch Off in 2025.

Ed Povall, one of our dedicated sales team who works exclusively in the Housing Sector, was thrilled to be back at PfH Live. We spoke to him about the new trends in Housing and what Daisy can offer Housing Agencies to equip them for an entirely new way of working.

How have you enjoyed PfH so far?

“It’s been great so far. We’re one day down, so it’s been fun to see what everybody’s doing and to meet up with PfH people and some suppliers we know and all the Housing Associations.

How has it been returning to a convention for the first time since the pandemic?

“It’s been really enjoyable, it’s been nice to get out and away from home. That’s novel. I think everyone else is feeling the same, people have been happy to engage and have a chat and see what we’re all up to.

What is the biggest trend in housing?

“The last year, it’s been making sure that everybody can be connected and can work from home and have the equipment they need and the connections they need. I think moving forward we’ll still be supporting the staff, but also making sure that all the equipment is connected and all the houses are connected. We’re going to see more around IoT and monitoring systems and things like that.

What can Daisy offer Housing Authorities?

“Connectivity. It’s about making sure the staff are connected, connected to each other, connected to the tenants, making sure their equipment is connected. Whether that’s through fixed line or Wi-Fi that everything works and the information flows.
