The perfect service for your business
After the launch of the iPhone 13, we had a look at why the iPhone family could be the business mobile for you. One of our key points was Apple’s in-built mobile device management system (MDM) and the Device Enrolment Program (DEP). Apple have the perfect MDM ready to go with your phone, letting you control your business phones with ease.
MDM, for anyone unaware, is software that lets IT administrators secure, control and enforce company policies. This can include preventing certain sites from being accessed on a business’s smartphones, tablets and other devices. It also allows you to easily configure and deploy your devices across your entire business.
Why Apple’s Device Enrolment Program?
Instead of relying on a third-party solution, Apple has created their own MDM. It will allow you to set up your iPhones, iPads and Mac computers with ease. This can be any or all of these devices, but it’s incredibly useful for iPhones which could be used across your entire business.
DEP simplifies the set-up of your business phones by automating the MDM enrolment and setup process, which lets you configure your new business mobiles without touching them. This ensures that all your Apple devices are configured based on your business’s requirements while giving you the ability to wirelessly supervise your staff once their phones are setup.
With MDM supervision, you can turn off AirDrop for security purposes or prevent your employees from using the Game Centre to stop any unwanted distractions. You can also prohibit certain web content, all without having to physically touch the devices. Perfect for business’s using hybrid or home working setups.
You can also enrol iOS devices that you have separately purchased from outside of Daisy, meaning you can welcome existing Apple devices to your business with no extra hassle.
How it all works
Step One – Create an Account: To use DEP head over to deploy.apple.com and create your program agent account. You’ll need an email associated with your business, so make sure you aren’t using a Gmail, Yahoo or any commercial email providers as your primary business email.
Step Two – Enable Two Step Verification: Before you continue, you will need to verify your email and enable two step verification. To do this, head over to the Apple ID website and follow the instructions. Once this is complete, you will receive an email confirming that two-step verification has been enabled.
Step Three – Complete the Enrolment Process: Once you have done this, you will be given steps to follow from Apple. This will include, providing verification contacts, business information and providing your Apple ID. Daisy will provide you with the DEP Reseller ID that is requested. If you do not have this when you have purchased your devices through us, please speak to our Customer Service department.
What Next?
Once it’s all set up you can add administrators, link any MDM servers or solutions you want to use, and assign devices to your server with the click of a button. If you have any issues, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our Customer Service department.
And that’s it. That’s why Apple DEM is one of the best reasons to use the iPhone as your business’ phone of choice. DEM is one of the most intuitive, easy to use MDMs out there and the fact it’s bundled in with the iPhone is incredible.
