Hybrid working. Remote working. Flexible working. It’s all well and good throwing these terms around, but how do you actually implement the right systems to make it a success? We have got five ways you can make hybrid working work for you.

1. Upgrade to Microsoft 365 Business

The ability to work anywhere at any time is a key necessity for hybrid work. With Microsoft 365 Business you get the best of both worlds in one impressive subscription plan.

  1. Connect with co-workers using Microsoft Teams and Outlook.
  2. Defend your business data with Microsoft’s enhanced cyber defence with high end phishing and ransomware protection.
  3. Manage your files from any location with 1 TB of cloud storage.
  4. Control access to sensitive information using advanced encryption.

2. Adopt a reliable mobile plan

According to a study conducted by USwitch, it is predicted that by 2025 over 95% of the UK population will be using a smartphone. With hybrid work becoming the new norm, so has meeting business demands from a mobile device. Not all locations you want to set up and work from will have a reliable WiFi connection, so it’s important to look out for mobile plans that offer unlimited calls, texts and data. It is also worthwhile exploring plans that offer international travel packages too, you never know where the next opportunity will arise!

3. Get a phone system that works for your business

Once you’re all up and running on mobile devices you want to make sure that whoever needs to receive or make customer calls can do so – wherever they are. By moving to a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) calling system in your office, employees can be routed calls even when they are working elsewhere via desktop or mobile device apps. Many will also integrate with your CRM systems too – making things extra easy.

4. Get the physical technology right

To get hybrid working off the ground you are going to have to invest in devices for your team to use on the move. You’ll need to assess what is best for your business. For example, do you need rugged or hardwearing mobile phones for a team on the move a lot? Or perhaps you need to consider a flexible laptop device that can integrate easily with monitors, phones and tablets.

5. Prioritise your people

The technology is vital, but not more important that the needs of the people using it to the benefit of your business. Ensure you’re also investing in them if they need training, mental health support or the chance to try something new. Your business can only be better every day if you enable them to be better every day too.
