‘No two days are the same when working at Daisy Communications’, describes Recruitment Advisor Callam Brown, and he couldn’t be more right. We value growth at Daisy and that means tackling exciting opportunities when they arise and supporting our teams to exceed their own ambitions. Here’s how Callam’s outlook has expanded since joining Daisy last year.

What is your current position at Daisy? When did you start?

I am a Recruitment Advisor at Daisy. I started in May 2022 as a Recruitment Assistant which was my first ever role in recruitment. Since May last year I have gained a lot of knowledge, and only two weeks ago was promoted to my current role!

What work experience did you have prior to this role and how has Daisy supported your skills and growth?

Before Daisy I worked at William Hill bookmakers starting as a 16-hour cashier and moving up as a full-time shop manager. Moving to Daisy was a lot different as it is an environment I was not used to and things like Excel spreadsheets, etc, I had not used since school which was a long time ago. Since working for Daisy, I have relearnt how to use the different Microsoft packages, become more accustomed to an office environment, and my communication skills have vastly improved.

What do you most like about working at Daisy and how would you describe the people and your working environment?

The best thing about working for Daisy is the team that I work in and the wider team. Everybody is always supportive of each other and push each other to grow and learn. My colleagues are always there to help and there really is no ‘I’ in team when it comes to Daisy.

What key values do you uphold in your role?

No two days are the same when working at Daisy Communications. The key values I think which have helped me so far are, you have to be willing to work hard for yourself but also for the team. Never be shy to ask questions and always stay positive!

Can you share an interesting fact about yourself?

I play guitar and write songs and I am also in two bands. Most importantly, I have my first child due in May!

Would you recommend Daisy to those searching for a new career or looking to expand their work experience? If yes, why? What would they benefit from working at Daisy?

I would absolutely recommend Daisy to those who are looking for a new career. I joined Daisy after working in the same industry for ten years. Daisy gave me an opportunity to start anew. The support from my manager and the wider team has been next level and enabled me to grow and get to where I am now. I have even built up skills that I never thought I would. I now find myself in a new career that I love and there is no looking back, and I couldn’t be more grateful!

What is something you are most proud of having achieved during your time at Daisy?

I am very proud of the fact that I have been promoted in less than a year with the company but also one thing I am extremely proud of is the relationships I have built up with my colleagues and team.

Do you have some valuable advice to share with newcomers or those interested in applying for a role at Daisy?

For the newcomers I would say don’t be shy to say hello! It really helped me getting to know people from different teams around the office and made me settle into my role very quickly.
